The MSPD Car Show & Shine is part of the Cool Mountain Nights weekend of festivities:
- Friday, August 31 — Car Show BBQ & Cruise
Cruise information is listed below and is followed by a delicious BBQ at Shastice Park. - Saturday, September 1 — MSPD Car Show & Shine, starting at 9am.
- Saturday, September 1 — After the awards ceremony at 2 pm, everyone is invited to Thunder in the Park at Shastice Park.
- Sunday, September 2 — Blackberry Festival at the City Park.
- Sunday, September 2 — Poker Run/Pancake Breakfast for Car Show Entrants (click here for details.)

Lodging Information: the Best Western Tree House Motor Inn has offered their manager's special for all car show registrants. Inquire for this special when making your reservation! Call (530) 926-3101 for reservations.
BBQ & Cruise Info
Last year's Cruise was a huge success, and we are keeping the route for this year (and stopping traffic as needed at all intersections.) Please use the registration form to reserve your BBQ dinner. Cost is only $10 for adults and $7 for children under 12. Even if you are aren't "cruising", please join us for a delicious meal of tri-tip, chicken, beans, salad, bread, soda/water and a dessert.
The Cruise will begin BEFORE the BBQ, starting at the Mt. Shasta Little League Park on Everitt Memorial Highway. Cars should line up facing west (towards downtown) along Everitt Memorial Highway, and rounding along Rockfellow Drive.
The Cruise will begin around 4:30 pm and follow the route below. Click here for a larger map and step by step directions. A Mt. Shasta Police car will lead the procession through town.
The Cruise ends at Shastice Park. All cars will be directed to park on the lawn and then join us for a delicious BBQ provided by Mt Shasta Supermarket/Keith Cool. This a great opportunity to meet other Car Show participants and the volunteers who organize the event. Not to mention a chance to show off your rig!
Thunder in the Park
Several years ago, Kevin Brooks and Thunder Mountain Motor Sports started Thunder in the Park. The event occurred at Shastice Park, after the MSPD Car Show & Shine, and featured a BBQ, chili cook-off, live band along with other entertainment and provided another opportunity for car show entrants to show their cars while enjoying local entertainment.
The following year, tragedy struck the Brooks' family after their son sustained a devastating C/5 spinal cord injury while playing for the Mt Shasta High School varsity football team.
This year, Thunder in the Park is returning, as a fundraiser to help fund Corben's recovery as well as celebrate the amazing success he has had in his journey so far.
Thunder in the Park 2012 will feature:
- Corben's Ride Raffle Drawing
- BBQ (one free for car show entrants)
- Beer & Wine Garden
- Chili Cook-off
- Live Band(s)
- Vendors
- Other Entertainment (details coming soon)
For all car show entrants who join the festivities at Shastice Park, Thunder in the Park will provide one free BBQ dinner (must show Car Show Dash Card!)
Sunday, September 2nd, Brooks'local Car Club will be providing a free pancake breakfast to everyone participating in their sponsored Poker Run! (Details on the Sunday Poker Run/Pancake Breakfast will be posted soon.)
