Emergency response is carried out from two fire stations located at 305 North Mt. Shasta Boulevard and on the corner of Pine and Lake Street. The Mt. Shasta City Fire Department protects a population exceeding 3,500.
During the year of 2008 our department responded to over 600 calls for service.
Training activities are scheduled on a monthly basis. The Department strives to deliver a wide range of training, which includes State, and Federally mandated topics, as well as discretionary subjects. All personnel are scheduled to participate in a minimum of 12 hours of training each month, scheduled on Wednesday evenings from 18:00 to 21:00 pm. With additional training opportunities on Saturdays from 16:00 to 19:00 pm.
Many volunteer firefighters expand their knowledge base by attending both fire service related and advanced degree courses from the other sources as well.
