Emergency Medical Response Information
As with most fire departments, the Mt. Shasta City Fire Department responds to a high volume of medical calls.
Approximately 80 percent of all calls for service are medical calls. The standard response is one 4 X 4 Medical Mini Pumper. All personnel are trained to First Responder level or higher.
All necessary basic life support equipment including heart defibrillators and "jaws of Life" is carried on this vehicle. The Department fills the need for Basic Life Support with Advanced Life Support responding from the Mt. Shasta Ambulance Service.
